“No!” Trine screams into the telephone. She is not going to fly to her orchestra’s audition at the Oslo Opera House. She’d rather hitchhike. And so soon, the 18-year-old climate activist and trumpet player is standing at the side of the road in her bright yellow raincoat. She has five days to get from Lofoten to the capital city. Laurens Pérol’s debut feature is a road movie with two destinations: a race against the clock and the journey of a young woman to herself, accompanied by the music of Astor Piazzoll a. Trine meets people who think the way she does, but she also becomes embroiled in heated discussions about the climate catastrophe. She does her breathing exercises and takes out her trumpet in churches, gyms, and cow barns. With every kilometre that she puts behind her, Trine gains a better understanding of herself and her view of the world. She doesn’t need to explain; we can see and hear that, for her, something is changing. Including her trumpet playing.
