Ida has disappeared without a trace. While looking for her, her father finds her friend Sander. Since he no longer has a place to stay, Ida's father offers him a huge, empty flat. In return, he wants Sander to tell him what happened. Is Ida still alive? Their meetings are a combination of interrogation, tribunal, and therapy session. The colours are muted; the father's voice never rises. Still, the air is thick and the situation is always on the verge of escalation. Sander's narratives reconstruct the story of a couple who have broken off all contact and resolutely withdrawn from the world. Their unexplained motives provide tension, giving this psychological thriller room for projections and various readings: Did they want to escape from civilisation? Were they uncomfortable with the culture? Were there sexual obsessions, fear of failure, denial? Sander's memories are as turbulent as his face is expressionless.
