My Robot Brother

Robotbror / My Robot Brother

Young Audience, Denmark 2022, 84 Min., dan. OV, engl. st, ger. voice over, 10 years and older

Skydiving in the living room, a self-coded dinner, and talking houses that let you know when your blood-sugar level is too low. Welcome to a not-too-distant future, where Alberte lives with her parents and Robbi, a G13 robot shaped somewhat like a teddy bear. Robbi has been part of the family for years, and often read bedtime stories to Alberte when she was a child. Alas, he still wants to do that, which leads to some embarrassment. In addition, Robbi's auto-correct is broken and his situational awareness no longer works in real time. Alberte finds Robbi, as endearing as he may be, mortifying in every way, which is why she wants a new robot. On her 12th birthday, Alberte can hardly believe her eyes. Her parents actually give her a G20 – a model that is not even on the market yet! The next day, Konrad is the number one topic of conversation at school, and Alberte is finally part of the in-crowd. But then she makes a discovery that turns everything upside down.
