There’s just no peace and quiet to be found in Schwanitz. The weekly canasta night, organized by local mortician Michael Töteberg, just lost its fourth player to a mysterious death, when there is another tragic event. As Töteberg and the other two players, Hildegard Knutzen and Jutta Weinert, are raising a toast to the deceased, an out-of-control car crashes into the tree in the front yard. The driver’s been shot. Before he dies, he tells the three that there is a lot of money in the car. They decide to hide their find from the police – which leads to even more problems. Who is the dead driver? How did he get so much money? And who does it actually belong to? At the veterinary clinic, change is also in the air. Hauke Jacobs and Jule Christiansen are looking for the perfect support person – but both are doing so without informing the other…
