Mein Falke / My Falcon
Filmforum, Germany 2023, 105 Min., ger. OV, SDH, audiodescription
Inga’s entire focus in life is her work as a forensic biologist. She knows her way around maggots, flies, and corpses, but has issues when it comes to interpersonal relationships. Aside from which, she’s never had the time for it because there are far too many important cases to solve: a dead baby, a drowned pensioner, searching for the remains of a forced labourer in a grave from World War II. Then on top of it all is Giovanni, a fledgling falcon that she’s taken into her care and wants to raise. Her father, who is frustrated that his daughter seems uninterested in his life, tries to get through to her in a very odd way. Then, unexpectedly, Charly is at the door, who claims to be Inga’s half-sister. Inga suddenly has a lot to think about… With subtle twists and turns, Dominik Graf paints a portrait of a woman who has yet to become aware of her own feelings, and of the people that play a role in them.
