Leyla and Tristan travel to a remote island to meet Leyla’s childhood friend, Stella. Much to Tristan’s surprise, Stella is an old man. And that’s not the only thing on the island that seems strange to him. In these waning days of summer, numerous couples have gathered to perform a mysterious ritual. Leyla and Tristan also take part– and exchange bodies with a married couple, Fabienne and Mo. Experiencing the world from behind the eyes of someone else allows them to experience their own perceptions, and their selves, differently. To what extent are our emotions, longings, and desires tied to our bodies? This new perspective on life creates emotional chaos for all involved and wreaks havoc on their relationships. Leyla in particular feels liberated and renewed in a different body. When she refuses to return to her own self, the situation gets out of hand.
