The urn with grandma's ashes is in the living room. Two sisters spend the Easter holidays at their grandfather's house in the village. He tells them that on Maundy Thursday, the witches fly to Blåkulla. Meanwhile, they make Easter decorations and transform themselves into mythical creatures with old clothes and make-up. Between sadness and boredom, the door opens into a magical twilight zone.
