Close to the Sicilian city of Cefalú is a building in ruins where Aleister Crowley, the most famous occultist of his time, lived in the 1920s. He practiced magic rituals there, celebrated drug and sex orgies. The film connects Crowley’s notes and accounts about him with footage at the location and, in increasingly abstract images, leads the audience into the dark world of the man who called himself Beast 666.
