Miraklet i Gullspång / The Gullspång Miracle

It all starts with an embroidered still life hanging on a kitchen wall. In a flat that the two Norwegian sisters May and Kari are viewing to buy in Gullspång, Sweden, the same embroidery is on the wall, one that May has been longing to have for almost forever! When the two of them sit down opposite Olaug, the flat’s previous owner, the two are sure that this must be some kind of divine intervention. That’s because Olaug is the spitting image of their sister Lita, who committed suicide more than 30 years ago. When it turns out that Olaug is also from Norway, the three decide to take a DNA test, setting off a series of revelations, each more incredible than the last. What starts as a light-hearted and quirky family reunion gradually turns into a bleak, true-crime odyssey with secrets, lies, and social rifts that even shared genes cannot bridge.
