Lübeck-Southeast Holstein local of ver.di will endow the Documentary prize at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck

The regional local of the ver.di United Services Union will take over sponsorship of the award for best documentary at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck (NFL). The prize is endowed with € 5000 and is awarded by a four-person jury, made up of film enthusiasts who are members of the ver.di trade union. 

Andreas Wübben, director of the local, commented: “To us, the new partnership with the Nordic Film Days means far more than just providing financial support for excellent films. It also expresses our commitment to society’s discourse on social and political subjects. Documentary films have the power to present complex realities and create awareness of the challenges and opportunities of social transformation”. NFL managing director Susanne Kasimir emphasised the importance of the collaboration: “The trade unions have supported the documentary format at the Nordic Film Days since 1991. The prize is a decisive contribution to raising the profile of these films for the long term. We look forward to working with the new sponsor of the award”.

The prize will be awarded during the Prize Night gala at the 66th Nordic Film Days Lübeck on November 9th.
