Lübeck Public Utilities company will endow prize for best Nordic or Baltic short film at the 66th Nordic Film Days

Lübeck, Sept. 11, 2024. The Stadtwerke – Lübeck’s public utilities company – takes a new step in its years of commitment to the Nordic Film Days. At the 66th festival, it will endow the prize for best Nordic or Baltic short film, first awarded in 2022. The 5,000 euro endowment is given to an outstanding work in the sections Nordic Shorts and Young Audiences.

Dr. Jens Meier, CEO of the Stadtwerke Lübeck, said, “as a municipal establishment in Lübeck, strengthening the cultural landscape is of particular concern to us. An important component of that is the film scene, which promotes established creative talent as well as the younger generation. Our endowment of the short film prize ties in with our years of commitment to the Nordic Film Days and continued support for Lübeck as a place of intercommunication and innovation. We are already looking forward to the category’s nominations and the prize award at the 66th Nordic Film Days in November”.

Susanne Kasimir, the managing director of the NFL, added, “with its endowment of the prize, the Lübeck Stadtwerke are writing a new chapter in our years of working together. It underlines the importance of short films, while also strengthening the connection between the festival and the city”.

The prize for best Nordic or Baltic short film will be awarded on November 9, 2024 as part of the awards ceremony of the 66th Nordic Film Days.
