Anne Schultka takes over as the head of the Nordic Film Days’ Lübeck Meetings

Lübeck, April 22, 2024. Anne Schultka has been named the new director of Lübeck Meetings at the Nordic Film Days. Lübeck Meetings is a collection of events organised by the festival and its partners for industry guests from Germany and abroad.
Schultka has a wealth of experience in the European film and media scene, including as a moderator, festival juror, speaker, and writer. She previously headed up projects for the KIDS Regio children’s film initiative, organising pan-European networking and industry events. As a member of the board of the FDK German Children’s Film Association, she promoted cultural diversity; last year she took over as head of the industry forum at the Golden Sparrow festival for German children’s media, responsible for organising events for the festival’s professional visitors.
“Anne Schultka combines vast experience with excellent inter-cultural skills, making her the ideal director for Lübeck Meetings. Her commitment to industry networking and European diversity bolsters our vision of positioning the Nordic Film Days as a gateway to the north”, said Susanne Kasimir, managing director of the NFL.
During the course of her career, Schultka has worked closely with high-profile festivals and institutions such as New Horizons in Warsaw and Industry@Talinn & Baltic Event as part of the Black Nights film festival. She looks forward to bringing that expertise and her extensive network to bear at the Nordic Film Days. As she put it, “Lübeck Meetings opens up an exciting opportunity for me to highlight the trends and talent of the Nordic and Baltic countries for the rest of Europe. My vision is to establish the Nordic Film Days as a dynamic space for innovative perspectives and voices within the European film culture”.
Schultka takes over from Laurin Dietrich who, after 12 years at the NFL, is exploring new professional opportunities. The festival’s artistic director, Thomas Hailer, said “We are grateful to Laurin Dietrich whose commitment helped make Lübeck Meetings a must-go for industry guests from here and abroad”.
Anne Schultka rounds out the new faces at the Nordic Film Days. Jenni Zylka recently took over as curator of the Series section. The following curators will continue their work for the 66th NFL, held from November 6 – 10, 2024.
