Gunnar's farm is the only home he's ever had. It's where he grew up – and where he grew old. Now the Icelandic government has taken his land and paid him an enormous sum as compensation. With a shrug, Gunnar accepts the cheque and moves to the city. In his sparsely furnished flat, he hangs a photo of his favourite horse on the wall, which says it all about his homesickness. The traffic and the noise annoy him. Plus, he's not used to talking to other people. Ari, the boy next door, doesn't seem to have many friends either. One day he forgets his key and rings Gunnar's doorbell. Soon the freckled redhead is standing in front of the old man's door with increasing frequency. The camera steps back and allows the two of them to just be together. In her directorial debut, Ninna Pálmadóttir tells the story of a friendship that knows no age restrictions but must fight against external adversity.
