„Homecoming“ Revisited. Gespräch über Sámi-Kulturgüter in Lübeck

In 2023, the Nordic Film Days showed Suvi West’s documentary “Homecoming”, which was about the restitution of Sámi cultural assets held in European collections. During the festival, there was a discussion between the director and Dr Lars Frühsorge, director of the World Cultures collection in Lübeck museums, which holds about 100 Sámi objects. Three year later, that discussion resumes. Following a new screening of the film, Dr Lars Frühsorge will talk to festival guests about what is now happening with the process kicked off back then. How are Sámi cultural assets in Lübeck’s museums dealt with now? And how has the debate on restitution, provenance, and responsibility progressed?
