Führung durch die Ausstellung Family Affairs. 125 Jahre „Buddenbrooks“
Events
To complement the Nordic Film Days Retrospective, there will be a tour of the interim exhibition in the Buddenbrooks House at St. Annen Museum. The exhibition looks at key issues that plague not only the novel’s Buddenbrook family, but about which we also often worry. What do I inherit from my family? Is that inheritance a burden or a benefit? Which expectations from my family do I meet and which do I disappoint? Is the way I live really free will? What are the rituals that hold my family together? And what will remain of me and my family at the end of life? This exhibition invites visitors to re-discover Buddenbrooks – and re-examine our own family affairs.
Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026, 3:30–4:30 pm Museum St. Annen, St.-Annen-Straße 15, 23552 Lübeck
