FOKUS NORD: Kultur als Standortfaktor

What is culture worth to a city? Cultural institutions do more than create spaces for cultural and social exchange. They provide jobs, commission services, attract visitors and generate additional revenue for hotels, restaurants and retailers. The ift GmbH is currently studying the regional economic impact of Theater Lübeck and the Nordic Film Days Lübeck. Its Managing Director Jan F. Kobernuß will introduce the study’s methodology and explain concepts such as indirect economic returns, value creation and urban return. This will be followed by a discussion with representatives from culture, politics and business: What economic and social impact does culture have on Lübeck? How can it be made more visible? And what role can these findings play in securing the long term funding of culture?
