Darkness Matters

"Darkness Matters" pays homage to nocturnal ecosystems by means of a meditative journey spanning dusk to dawn. We roam from cultivated olive groves alive with flickering fireflies to wooded areas with hedgehogs, owls and wolves, and onwards and upwards to alpine meadows and mountain ridges where ibexes roam serenely. The point of view is not just ours; we also see what the animals see – as distorted as it may seem. Finally, the camera pans upwards to the Milky Way. The immersive experience lasts exactly as long as it takes for the human eye to adjust to seeing in the dark, offering a contrast to the rapid consumption of images that we are used to today.
