Sámi Bojá / Sámi Boy
Hommage, Sápmi / Norway / Sweden 2015, 9 Min., DCP, sámi OV, engl. st
Mikkel is well versed in the harsh daily life of reindeer husbandry. He watches over the herd on the snowy plains and in the evening, drives them into their enclosure. Otherwise he sits silently in the living room with his family. But there's a struggle going on inside the young man. Like many young Sámi, he is wrestling with questions of identity. This film looks behind the façade, letting the images speak almost entirely for themselves.
