Eatnanvuloš lottit – Maan sisällä linnut / Birds in the Earth
Hommage, Sápmi / Finland / Norway 2018, 11 Min., no dialogue, FSK 0
Western culture meets Sámi lifestyle. Two ballerinas, classically outfitted in tutus, dance across snowy landscapes and Sámi villages. They pirouette in reindeer pens and dance among the trees. Their journey takes them – now clad in traditional dress – directly to the steps of Finland’s parliament. Dance is one way to fight for Sámi land rights.
