In a sleek, elite Stockholm law firm, lawyers in power suits fight for their clients from the worlds of business and organised crime, while simultaneously fighting for themselves and their status. While Oscar tries to make a name for himself by engaging directly with the rap scene, his new colleague Tilde is determined to keep up with the fast pace of work. She quickly finds herself embroiled in a complicated and dangerous case that raises questions about the ethics and intentions of the people involved. Meanwhile, Sasha – spoiled by success – finds himself dealing with a complex rape case … Based on an idea by renowned Swedish criminal defence lawyer and author Jens Lapidus, "Burden of Justice" adopts a breathless pace to tell of corruption, the need to prove oneself, and the search for (possibly non-existent) judicial truth. Though the protagonists are committed to justice, their promise to uphold the law is becoming an increasingly heavy burden.
