Norwegian Gunnar Ryan Wiik has big dreams. He wants to revive and rebuild the shuttered film studio near Spain’s Alicante and change the film industry from the ground up. Even as a child, he fantasised epic duelling scenes and gigantic sets in the desert. He sees himself as a kind of western hero, and prefers speaking English than Norwegian. In numerous discussions with potential investors all over the world, he perfectly plays the enthusiastic entrepreneur with a vision. But his past includes a failed large-scale project that caused a mighty stir, which could endanger confidence in his current enterprise. Ten years ago, Ryan attempted on a similarly gigantic scale to adapt Norway’s literary western hero, Morgan Kane, for a Hollywood film. But the project collapsed shortly before production began …
