Armstrong – The adventurous journey of a mouse to the moon

Armstrong – Die abenteuerliche Reise einer Maus zum Mond / Armstrong – The adventurous journey of a mouse to the moon

Immersion 360°, Germany / Switzerland 2022, 44 Min., germ. OV, 5 years and older

If it’s a clear night, the inquisitive mouse Amstrong can see the moon through a telescope from his attic room – white, round, and unreachable. The other mice claim “the moon is made of cheese” and aren’t interested in Armstrong’s theory. So he hatches a plan to prove the moon is made of stone, just like Earth. He’ll fly there and get a hunk of the stone. But how? A mouse in space … Thankfully, Armstrong gets some help and joins the ranks of mouse aviation pioneers. He builds a rocket to take him to the moon and back. After weeks of experiments, attempts, and failures that cost Armstrong everything – even his beloved garret and the valuable telescope – the time has finally come. The rocket takes off. Based on the children’s book by Torben Kuhlmann, “Armstrong” tells the story of a furry, four-legged inventor who manages the impossible. One small step for mousekind, but one large step for the humankind that is hot on its heels.
