Randolf, a child orphaned during the Thirty Years’ War, dreams of an old prophecy – “The hearts of men, dark with fear, long for the glimmering of the silver sail”. Pursuing this prophecy leads him on an adventure that pushes him to his limits. He’s not the only one searching for this mysterious sail, as Pirate Iron Foot has also set out in search of it. Randolf finds allies out on the ocean, but will he be able to conquer his fear? This presentation is based on the eponymous young adult book by beloved Lübeck writer Wolfram Eicke. Tobias Weithoff, technical director of the Bochum planetarium worked with Eicke and Hans Niehaus to develop the dome version. With sound design by Dieter Faber and Werner Becker, this musical poem has been transformed into a powerful and visually stunning planetarium show. Numerous well-known contributors, including Nina Hagen, Annett Louisan, Stefan Gwildis, Joachim Witt, Naima, Rolf Zuckowski, and Tim Mälzer lend their voices to the characters. Uwe Ochsenknecht, as the narrator, leads us through the story.
