Agency in documentary filmmaking refers to individuals or groups in the story who have the power to act, make decisions, and shape the film‘s direction. It is about the authentic sharing of perspectives, experiences, and voices. Key questions arise. Who is telling the story? From what perspective? With what goals?
This masterclass explores techniques and discussions to empower filmmakers in their storytelling. It is aimed at documentary filmmakers, producers, and emerging talents interested in developing their storytelling skills. The session will begin with a dialogue between two filmmakers, followed by a Q&A, and an open discussion to foster an engaging and interactive experience.
