Nordic Screen Directors Guild Session – What Happened to the Nordic Auteur?

Gesprächsrunde mit den nordischen Regieverbänden – Wie steht es um das nordische Autorenkino? / Nordic Screen Directors Guild Session – What Happened to the Nordic Auteur?

Lübeck Meetings

Is the landscape of Nordic cinema changing, and with it the role of the director? This session, part of the annual meeting of the Nordic Directors Guilds, which is taking place for the first time this year during the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck, will explore this question. Focusing on the growing influence of production companies and market-driven decisions, the discussion will address how these forces are affecting the artistic freedom of directors and director-driven projects in the Nordic region. What does that mean for the future of Nordic cinema and how can we strengthen the role of the director and artistically driven film projects?
In a relaxed format, the session invites dialogue between the panel and the audience, encouraging thoughtful exchange. The event is aimed at accredited festival visitors and interested members of the public from Lübeck.
