LIVESHOW: Dimma

The Ålandic-Norwegian duo Havsmörker (AX/NO) – literally translated: the $Darkness of the Sea% – use their compositions to explore tradition and distance in contemporary music. In their amalgamation of found soundscapes, analogue compositions, and dissonant sounds from traditional instruments, Anton Johansson and Axel Hjo proffer an admonishment of the vulnerability of humanity and nature. Their album, $Dimma%, released in 2023, was described by the Swedish magazine $Gaffa% as $rave music costumed as folk music%. When performing live, the visual artist Simon Häger joins them in the sonic and visual interpretation of the peripheral areas of the Åland archipelago.
