The tiny Danish town of Vesterløv looks like an idyllic picture postcard from the outside. But when a talented young wrestler is brutally murdered, and his coach Lars is one of the main suspects, this ideal world implodes as more and more lies come to light. The chief of police investigating the case also has his secrets – he and Lars’s wife Charlotte are having an affair. She, in turn, drinks to repress a severely traumatic loss. She gets involved in the investigations to help get her husband off the hook.
The furiously written, savagely exciting story develops on multiple levels. Along with the classic whodunit of a crime series is the painstaking exploration of its protagonists’ psyches. The complex characters are convincing at every moment, and the twists and turns always surprising. The strong performance of award-winning actor Josephine Park in the role of Charlotte is particularly memorable. The NFL is showing episodes 1, 2, and 4 of this four-part miniseries.
