Mañana Sol

Jadranka and Aleksandar Pavlovic met 35 years ago while on vacation in the Canary Islands. In their retirement, they have returned with the dream of spending their golden years together in the island paradise. But they soon split up and now live on two different islands, five-and-a-half hours away from each other. Both are seeking meaning in their retirement years. Jadranka throws herself into work; she opened a small bar, goes out, and is learning Spanish. Aleksandar wants to start SCUBA diving again, but his health is giving him serious problems and he trudges from one doctor’s appointment to the next. They both suffer from heartache and the loss of a life-long partner in their differing ways.
Under the radiant sun, amid the vast hotel landscapes, the palms and the glittering sea, the documentary follows the former couple in this alleged pensioners’ paradise, as they unsparingly share their thoughts about their own lives, the future and each other.
