Grüße vom Mars / Greetings From Mars

Ten-year-old Tom sees the world a little differently. There are many things he doesn't like, especially change and the colour red. But he loves space, and dreams of one day travelling to Mars as an astronaut. Mars is not red, like everyone thinks. It’s a beige-brownish colour. But first, Tom must embark on another adventure. His mum has to travel to China for a few weeks as a correspondent, and Tom and his older siblings Nina and Elmar have to stay with their grandparents in the little village of Lunau. Though this is a huge disaster, his mum suggests that he should look at the trip as a trial mission for his expedition to Mars. Tom starts keeping a log book and appoints Nina and Elmar to be radio operator and first officer. But life on planet Lunau runs according to strange rules – and then Tom discovers an asteroid in the sky ... Sarah Winkenstette's humorous family film shows in a refreshing way that being different can be a strength.
