What at first seem idyllic images reveal the struggle for existence one winter night in the natural world. A stoat gnaws at a bird, but a fox displaces him at table. The fox catches a rabbit, but an owl steals his booty. At second glance, it seems that the perfect lighting in this natural setting may be owed to work on a sound stage.
