The Holsten Gate Reel is a compilation of advertising films from the same era as the early Nordic Film Days Local companies advertised in Lübeck movie theatres wares with slides, cutout animations, or – if they could afford it – short 35 mm ads. The short films are a sort of “condensed zeitgeist”, giving us a chance to re-visit well-known and forgotten stores, department stores, brands, and places.
