Lübeck, November 9, 2024. The awards for the 66th Nordic Film Days Lübeck were handed out this evening at the gala Prize Night at Theater Lübeck. MC Loretta Stern hosted the ceremony during which eleven prizes worth 65,000 euros were awarded. The Honorary prize was awarded on opening night, November 6, to Finnish actor Kati Outinen.

In addition to the international guests of the festival, filmmakers who presented their films in the various sections, including the award winners, the event was also attended by the Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck Jan Lindenau and the Senator for Culture and Education, Monika Frank, the Danish Honorary Consul Carsten Bliddal
and the Finnish Honorary Consul Bernd Jorkisch. Bruno Hönel and Tim Klüssendorf, two members of the German Bundestag, and Anette Röttger and Sophia Schiebe, two members of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament, were among the guests.

Four prizes were awarded in the feature film competition, two of which went to the Danish production "My Eternal Summer" / "Min evige Sommer", including the NDR Film Prize, which comes with the festival's highest endowment of 12,500 euros. Director Sylvia Le Fanu accepted it and the Baltic Film Prize for a Nordic film, endowed with 5,000 euros. The NDR Film Prize jury described the film as "as bright as a never-ending midsummer" , while the Baltic Film Jury praised it for addressing everything between life, death and love.
The jury of the INTERFILM Church Film Prize awarded its prize of 5,000 euros to "When the Light Breaks" / " Ljósbrot" , a production from Iceland, the Netherlands, Croatia and France. The film was directed by Rúnar Rúnarsson from Iceland. The audience jury awarded the Lübecker Nachrichten prize of 5,000 euros to Quiet Life (France / Germany / Sweden / Greece / Estonia / Finland) by Greek director Alexandros Avranas.

The films in the documentary film competition at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck competed for the documentary film prize endowed with 5,000 euros by the ver.di Lübeck/Süd-Ostholstein district. The winner was Pamela Hogan "The Day Iceland Stood Still" , an Icelandic-American co-production.

Each year, the CineStar Group recognises the best short in the Filmforum section with its CineStar Prize, worth 5,000 euros. This year it went to "Gestern, ich denke an morgen" (Yesterday, I'm thinking of tomorrow) by Hamburg director and cinematographer Tom Otte. A Special Mention from the jury went to "Ich war auch damals wirklich ich, aber nur in meinem Kopf" by Julia Küllmer.

Two prizes were awarded in the Young Audience section.
