When Agnes catches Atli watching an old sex tape of him and his ex-girlfriend, it’s the final straw. She immediately throws the father of her daughter out of their flat and has the locks changed. Atli’s attempts to sort things out with Agnes at her office, or at a meeting of the tenant’s association fail miserably. Then he picks his daughter up at the kindergarten without permission, which doesn’t help matters. So of dire necessity, Atli moves back in with his parents. But their world is in a bit of a mess at the moment – the disappearance of Atli’s brother, a stately tree, a cat, and a dog are stirring up serious unrest in the neighbourhood of row houses. With trenchant artistry, director Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson portrays the depths to which humans can sink, which turn out to be as funny as they are touching.
