Data Protection Policy

Welcome to the website of the Nordic Film Days Lübeck. Your privacy is very important to us. The European General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) takes effect on May 25, 2018. The following outlines how we use the data collected during your visit to this website. If you have any additional questions regarding how we use your personal data, please contact the Data Protection Officer of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck, datenschutz@luebeck.de.

Collection of general technical information

Certain general information is automatically collected when you visit our website. That information, stored in our servers’ log files, includes the browser you are using, your computer operating system, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and other technical data. Those data do not identify you personally. The data is necessary for us to provide you with website content in a form that is accessible to you. We use the technical data for statistical purposes in order to optimise our Internet presence and the software it runs on.

The following data are collected:

  • Date and time of the visit
  • Which services and resources are accessed and which actions the user performs
  • Queries sent by your computer, if applicable
  • Technical data on the server that accessed the Internet site
  • Data transfer volume
  • A log file that access was successful
  • The IP address of the computer (kept for one month)
  • The browser

Those data are stored for one month and used to analyse technical problems and prevent attacks on the website. After one month, they are rendered anonymous and kept for up to one year for statistical and bookkeeping purposes.

Statistical use (tracking)

To analyse user behaviour and improve our website, we gather statistical information using software called Matomo installed on our servers. All the data used by the programme is stored exclusively on the servers of the city of Lübeck and is not accessible to outside vendors. IP addresses are registered anonymously. The analytics software creates an anonymous user ID from the data and places a cookie on the user’s computer. We also use software on our website that gives us precise information about how visitors use the site (tracking).
