Fischer fischt Frau

The world is no longer in order in Eastern Frisia. The weatherproof shrimp fishermen that navigate through the North Sea every night on their cutters are struggling for survival. In times of globalization the North Sea shrimp travel thousands of kilometres to be shelled cheaply in Morocco before returning to Germany to be sold. In the old days this was how the fishermen's wives earned their living. Today price dumping by Dutch wholesalers is threatening to crush the small family businesses. Utterly frustrated, tight-lipped Hein accompanies his friend Matze on a trip to Morocco – and falls in love with Mona, a young Moroccon shrimp sheller whom he meets in Tangiers. She returns his affections and follows him to his East Frisian village with no idea of what is expecting her there. And Hein has not settled matters with his ex-wife Rieke yet, who doesn't like people getting the better of her. Behind the dyke and at sea an impeded love blossoms.
