Karen is a successful Copenhagen-based fashion photographer who is happily married to Johan, a writer. In her dreams, however, she has erotic encounters with an unknown man in an East European hotel room. At a photo shoot in Paris one day, Karen meets the stranger from her dreams for real: She immediately becomes obsessed with him – Maciek, a man from Poland – and begins an affair. Although her husband senses a change in her, Karen keeps meeting Maciek and even travels to Warsaw to see him. Her obsession increasingly causes her to lose control. Following his trilogy on the social classes of Denmark, which has been awarded several prizes at Nordic Film Days Lübeck, Per Fly returns to the screen with an erotic psychological drama. With references to "Last Tango in Paris" and Danish star Sonja Richter in the lead role, the film presents an arousing albeit disturbing portrait of a woman who is overwhelmed by the power of her passion.
