Since spring of 2006 the “Friends of the Nordic Film Days Lübeck e.V.” is officially registered as a non-profit association according to German law. This gives the “Friends” a clear form for legal and financial purposes. The aim of the “Friends” is to promote the Nordic Film Days through personnel, financial support and constructive ideas and to organize information events about the festival.
Chairwoman of the association is Pia Walter. The other members are former Minister Gisela Böhrk, Danish Honorary Consul Karsten Bliddal, cinema operator Marlies Kieft, Presiding Judge Ingo Hurlin of the District Court, business director of the MuK Gabriela Schröder as Treasurer as well as Linde Fröhlich in her capacity as Artistic Director of the Film Days. The initiator of the “Friends”, Claus-Achim Eschke, will continue to support the festival as honorary member of the association. Peter Skrock-Grimm from the Cultural Office of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck will manage the business of the association.
In the face of the tight budget for public funding, the festival is in even greater need of helping hands in order to maintain and solidify its position as a cultural highlight of the North. You can become a member of the “Friends” starting with a contribution of 50 €, whereby larger sums are welcomed. You can become one of the festival’s Patrons with a contribution of 500 € or more.
