Homage, Denmark 2008, 96 Min., dan. OV, engl. st
Traumatised and lacking any prospects, the professional soldier Lotte returns from Iraq. Is her psychological instability really only due to her military deployment? Her father, a shady businessman and pimp, offers his daughter a job – she can chauffeur one of his prostitutes, Lilly, a native of Nigeria, to her johns. In "Little Soldier", Trine Dyrholm is gritty and raw. Her Lotte has retreated within herself, rejects all emotion, and moves through everyday life as if on automatic pilot. With this character, the actor raises questions that have not lost their topicality, such as the personal reasons that drive young people to pursue overseas deployment in the military. And the images that remain in their head when they return. And lastly, even if you have the best intentions, should you interfere in the lives of others. Lotte wants to help Lilly see her young daughter again in Nigeria. So unasked, on her own initiative, she undertakes action.
