In the wake of the catastrophe at Fukushima, the Japanese coined a new term – genpatsu rikon. It is made up of the characters for “atomic” and “divorce”. For his film “Snapshot – Mon Amour”, Christian Bau travelled in 2011 to the east coast of Japan to explore this new term for a wave of nuclear family breakdowns.
