Hilma has just moved with her parents into a new house. It’s not easy for her to make contact with her new surroundings, for Hilma can hardly hear anything. But then she and her father discover an old tape recorder. The film gently assembles a soundtrack that traces the girl’s perceptions as she and her surroundings get to know one another.
