Alex is a 16-year-old outsider who takes drugs and has dropped out of school. Her adoptive mother sends her to a horse farm in the hopes that Alex will come to her senses. At first, Alex is less than enthusiastic about the farm, where smoking is banned, there’s no mobile reception, and you have to get up before 7:00 am and work all day. But she does like the horses and increasingly Nina, the charismatic riding teacher. Nina has come to the isolated northern German coast to take a break from her partner, Christina, and the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The two young women begin to draw close. But the arrival of Kathy, a girl from a wealthy family, creates turmoil. What starts out as jealousy develops into a friendship between the two girls. But when they spend a weekend alone at the farm, things spin out of control.
