Beatles

Beatles

Competition Narrative Films, Norway 2014, 110 Min.

In the 60s, Beatlemania overruns Norway. Kim, Gunnar, Ola and Seb are four teenagers who are highly enthusiastic about the Fab Four. They take on the names of their idols, match their outfits, and start calling themselves The Snafus. But imitation can only go so far, especially since instruments are expensive as hell. But so much more is going on! There are girls to discover, alcohol habits to cultivate, and parties to celebrate. There are teen jokes, backward-thinking adults and beatings from bigger guys. There are fervent hopes and harsh disappointments – and on top of it all, there’s music. “Beatles” is the ultimate coming of age story, based on Lars Saabye Christensen’s successful novel by the same name. It’s a time of change, when only one thing is for certain – the Beatles are the best band in the world.
