The filmmaker Sara Broos' godfather, the Swedish painter Lars Lerin, returns to his hometown, marked by a broken relationship and many years of alcohol and pills. He craves some peace and quiet, and a new love relationship. He comes into contact with the Brazilian dancer Manoel Marques via Skype. Despite speaking different languages, they decide to get acquainted and to find out whether they might be able to fall in love. The first steps are conceivably difficult, but maybe the language barrier will actually force them to open up and engage in their new love. Sara Broos accompanies them and shows the courage it takes to drop one's protective shell and become vulnerable, to disclose even one's dark sides and fears. This intimate insight into the complicated ways of love and self-love was awarded the prize for best Swedish documentary film at the Gothenburg festival.
