Blondie

Competition Narrative Films, Sweden 2012, 88 Min.

Sigrid is turning 70. That is why her three daughters arrive at the splendid country home a few days before the large garden party is set to take place. But the intact facade is deceptive. There are many flaws in the lives of these three attractive women: Elin may be a top model living in Paris, but she does cocaine and encourages her nieces to shoplift. Katarina, a doctor married to an alcoholic, is the mother of two daughters and sleeps with a young intern. Lova, the pet of the family, has dropped out of university in London and would most like to stay forever in her unchanged child bedroom. Director Jesper Ganslandt presents a light-flooded family drama in which three young women spend their lives trying to come to terms with their dominant mother. He has elegantly combined the unveiling of psychological harm, like in Chekhov's rural dramas, with a “Sex and the City” environment.
