This documentary film tells the moving and enthralling success story of a primary school in St. Pauli, one of Hamburg's socially deprived areas. Thanks to the unique commitment of music teacher Gino Romero Ramirez, the children begin to learn playing the violin in second grade. A difficult instrument, but the music teacher raises the pupils' interest to such an extent that they enthusiastically stick with it for three years. Gino Ramirez' aim is not to raise virtuoso violinists. He rather wishes to convey a love of music and to playfully teach the children the importance of patience and concentration and that the key to success lies in listening to each other. Skills that help the children in all aspects of their development. The film accompanies the violin class throughout the entire three years - from the first wrong note to a major concert performance. Great fun!
