Superclásico

It could hardly have gotten any more humiliating for Christian from Copenhagen: His wife Anna has left him for an Argentinian superstar - a muscleman with shining white teeth, worshipped as a god of football in his homeland. But instead of signing the divorce papers, Christian follows her to Buenos Aires with their son Oscar, in order to win her back. But the clumsy Dane gets mixed up in a conflict with football fanatics, with a totally unfamiliar sense of gender roles and in the street labyrinth of the Argentianian metropolis. "Superclásico" has turned out to be one of this summer's greatest box office hits in Denmark. Director Ole Christian Madsen's turbulent comedy centres on a clash of the northern European and South American ways of living and loving. The Danish cinema star Anders W. Berthelsen provides an outstandingly funny performance as an average Danish man, with Paprika Steen as his congenial counterpart, acting in her familiar, exalted manner.
