Caroline Picker accompanied adolescents and young adults in a housing estate in Hamburg-Billstedt throughout the course of three years. The "bunker", as its inhabitants call it, is a ghetto for Roma, Poles, Turks and Afghanis as well as a handful of Germans. Whoever grows up there is in no position to demand a great deal from life. Their everyday life is marked by dropping out of school, drugs and crime. Nevertheless these young people have dreams. They give intimate insight into their everyday lives and show aspects of themselves that have little in common with gangster clichés. They talk about school, love, plans for the future and their wish to live a happy life. Then the honour killing of Morsal O. happens in their direct surroundings.
