Neue Vahr Süd

Frank Lehmann, 20 years old, still lives with his parents in the faceless "Neue Vehr" quarter of Bremen. The year is 1980 and Frank is drafted into the army, despite him being – as his friends would confirm – "not the type". But Frank forgot to submit his conscientious objection. Why? If only he knew ... When he comes back home after his first week at the army, his father has already moved into Frank's room. But his old schoolfriend Martin Klapp can help him. He and two of his left-wing friends are just moving into a shared flat in the Ostertor quarter, Bremen's alternative neighbourhood. Frank rents an as-of-yet unoccupied connecting room. His everyday life between left-wing chaotic shared flat and the army with its own particular regulations makes Frank a wanderer between worlds. Keeping a low profile becomes his main aim – but he succeeds as little at that as he does with another of his aims: not to fall in love. Especially not with Sibylle, whom his best friend Martin absolutely adores ...
