While her parents are on holiday, the young girl Lena has become involved with Helge, a sadistic pimp who takes nude photographs of her and wants to force her into prostitution. When she tells her friend Jan, he beats her. Lena hitch-hikes out of there and meets a couple with whom she breaks into Jan's weekend home. But her friend catches up with them and takes Lena back to Stockholm ... Director Gustav Wiklund creates an oppressive atmosphere of sexually underlined "teenage angst", using countless flashbacks and drastic phantasies in which Lena imagines orgies, rapes and even her own death. "Exposed" is a surprizing mixture of youth drama, thriller and sex film, built entirely on visual appeal. One of those appeals is Christina Lindberg, who radiates a highly attractive aura of innocence and cunning in this "schoolgirl" genre, a genre that is taken far more seriously in Sweden.
