Tukuma

When the Dane Erik hears of his brother's mysterious death in Greenland, he travels to Umanak to find out more. Erik never really knew his brother, but after talking to the natives, he begins to gain an understanding. The Greenlanders called his brother "Tukuma" – "he, who is in a hurry". Erik himself is in a deep crisis, but his encounter with the Inuit people enables him to see his life from a new perspective. This moving film full of amazing images of Greenland centres on intercultural dialogue, which includes, figuratively speaking, the netherworld. The film stars the famous Danish actor Thomas Eje and Greenland's most popular singer, Rasmus Lyberth. "Tukuma" was presented with the Audience Award at the 1984 Nordic Film Days Lübeck.
